ABOUT THE CLUB |
OUR MISSION
“To provide the youth of Seaford and surrounding areas with the opportunity to participate in structured formal activities to help develop their self-esteem, football and social skills in a supporting environment.”
The club is run by volunteers and we encourage ALL parents and supporters to take an active role in developing our youth, and ensuring that this club remains a leading group in the Seaford, Frankston, and Peninsula community!!
It is the volunteers over our nearly 50 years that have put us in this enviable position, and we need new volunteers to carry on the good work.

OUR HISTORY
Seaford Junior Football started in 1970 however, was not formally recognised as a club until it was officially formed at a meeting on February 15, 1971.
1970 saw Fred Stewart organise and coach two junior teams, an Under 8 and Under 10. However, they did not compete in any official competition, and games were organised against clubs who were participating in the F&DJFL which included Pines, Frankston Rovers, Mornington, Frankston YCW and Frankston East. The first official meeting of the Seaford Junior Football Club was held at the Seaford Football Club rooms, and was chaired by Bruce Stewart, who was President of the Seaford Football Club at the time. |
A draft constitution was tabled which included Rule 2 – “That the objective of the club shall be to encourage, promote and foster junior football.”
Due to the disbanding of the North Seaford Junior Football Club, their players amalgamated with our own to form the Seaford Junior Football Club, with a first season competition player enrolment total of 204 boys, playing in five teams.
The club had mixed colours with the Under 12 and Under 14 teams playing in Collingwood jumpers on a Saturday morning whilst the remaining teams wore Richmond jumpers.
The club was initially located at Seaford Football Ground (seniors ground) and relocated to East Seaford Reserve now known as Norm Cathie Oval in the early seventies. The club once again relocated in 2012 to a fantastic new facility at Belvedere Reserve which includes three ovals and club rooms which were named after club stalwart Davey Richardson in 2014.

SEAFORD FOOTBALL CLUB - THE SENIORS
Although there is no direct affiliation, the seniors have enjoyed a close and productive association with our club. The Tigers boast some 90% of their players being past SJFC players and they fully promote both a Family and Community approach to their operations.
With both clubs working together we aim to provide the ‘top end’ of the pathway to participate in community based sport.
The Senior Club provides excellent coaching for their Under 19 and senior teams – both men & women.
They are a strong and well-run club, and we would like to encourage all juniors to try-out with their Under 19’s after their time here.
At present, we share all facilities.
For further information, contact President Dale (Donny) O’Neil, on 0486 031 225.
Postal Address: Seaford Football Club, PO Box 202 Seaford, 3198.
The senior club’s website is http://seafordfnc.teamapp.com/
